Snap, Clap, Wiggle and Giggle to the power of language. Light a fire in the imagination of children using simple, easy-to-do activities. Literacy and language become a daily activity when you find the resources you need. Connect standards as you jazz up your curriculum. You will capture ways to find a storytelling and literacy connection in every activity you present to the children. Learn how to make books, introduce poems and finger plays and sing catchy never to forget songs. Join the fun and experience activities that connect the classroom and the child’s family.
Mary Jo Huff
Mary Jo is a nationally known speaker, professional storyteller, author, recording artist and Early Childhood educator. Her workshops are motivational, educational and inspirational. She encourages her audience to be creative and comfortable telling stories and using puppets with children.
Her dedication to sharing her knowledge has inspired her to design and distribute storytelling aprons, vests, story bands, puppets and props. She is the author of seven publications and has written articles for several Early Childhood and storytelling publications. “Storytelling with Puppets, Props, and Playful Tales” has been awarded the coveted Pegasus Award from the National Youth Storytelling Network and has received a Parent’s Choice Approval. As a recording artist, she has produced a training video, three CDs and a new, interactive DVD - Fairytales, Fantasy and Storytelling Fun. The DVD shows how children can interact and become mesmerized by a good story. The DVD and CDs have received awards from iParenting, NAPPA, Dove, Parent’s Choice, Kid’s First and a rewarding write up in the Library Journal.
